Congratulations to the Winners of the Automotive Brand Contest and the Bicycle Brand Contest 2019 – Registration for 2020 Starts Now

On 10 September 2019 the German Design Council will honour the winners of the Automotive Brand Contest and the Bicycle Brand Contest 2019 during the IAA in Frankfurt am Main. The honorary prize “Brand Manager of the Year” will be awarded to Maria-Elisabeth Schaeffler-Thumann and Georg F. W. Schaeffler, shareholders of the Schaeffler Group. On the day of the awards ceremony, the German Design Council will officially open the call for entries for the next Automotive Brand Contest. Those interested in participating in the 2020 competition will be able to register from 10 September.

Automotive Brand Contest – Honorary Prize

Each year the jury of the Automotive Brand Contest awards the honorary title, “Brand Manager of the Year”. This year the jury has chosen to recognise Maria-Elisabeth Schaeffler-Thumann and Georg F. W. Schaeffler, the majority shareholders and guiding force behind the Schaeffler Group, an international company with a single unifying vision: to think in the long term and to act responsibly. “We are very honoured to receive this distinction, and we proudly accept this award on behalf of the roughly 90,000 members that make up the SCHAEFFLER family of companies. A strong brand stands for the quality of the products and services it represents. It creates a sense of identity for employees, and it generates trust among business partners – including through the immaterial values associated with it.”

The Automotive Brand Contest is the only international design competition that encompasses all businesses in the mobility industry, including the design and communications agencies operating in this sector. In this competition the German Design Council pays tribute to outstanding product and communication design, with a focus on the integral and consistent use of branding across all media and products. The competition also honours outstanding accomplishments in the motorcycle and bicycle industries with the award categories “Motorcycles/Bikes” and “Parts & Accessories”. The call for entries for the 2020 competition will open on 10 September 2019. The awards ceremony will be held in Beijing in April 2020 during the AUTO CHINA trade fair.
